Is there any word on whether there's a Cannon Street run this year, and if so, what date it will be?

Interesting .... might have to take a day off and come down for this one. Any thoughts on a date yet?

That works for me, but will wait until it's confirmed before booking time off and train tickets.

Should work for me, too.

Or, completely selfishly, I could also do Tuesday 26th or Wednesday 27th, as these are my days in the London office.

Hi guys - sorry just to say I won't be partaking in this years event - My knees and back are just too sore and painful and running or even walking up and down stairs and escalators isn't going to be any fun. The R15 and parkrun themselves are becoming a real struggle.
Good luck to those going and enjoy :)

Sorry to hear that GU, but sounds like you're being sensible in saving yourself for Parkrun and R15s. Hope you manage to keep doing them for as long as possible.

In that case, I'll attempt this challenge on Tuesday 26th when I'm in London for work, rather than travelling down for the day on the 19th. Obviously will just be for my own "enjoyment" rather than competing with anyone doing it this week. I'm having fun working out a route with lots of interchanges for the first half, and with long stretches of lots of stations for the second half when I'm knackered.

Yes sensible isn't something I usually do
that's pretty much the strategy I used when we last did this variation
I think Richard Standing is still interested so not sure if that date works for him or anyone else that may be lurking

GU - sorry to hear about your injury issues.

EAW - yes, happy to do 26th instead of 19th.

Richard

Excellent - so meet 18.30 at Cannon Street tube entrance on Tuesday 26th September for A Game of Two Halves.

Anyone else going to join us?

Here is a copy and paste of the rules for anyone attending - not planning a post challenge meet up as need to get back

We are going to make this years Cannon Street run "The game of 2 halves"
You must depart from Cannon Street on the first train in your chosen direction after 1830hrs and the idea is to visit as many unique Tube stations as possible. You will score 1 point for every station and 2 points for an interchange. An interchange is deemed successful if the doors have closed, you do not have to arrive at the next station. So on the example of switching from Bakerloo to Northern at Charing Cross if your train departs within the 45 minute window you will score 1 for the visit plus 2 for the interchange = 3 points. If you were to leave the system at Warren Street and Run to Euston Square again if your doors closed before the 45 minutes had elapsed you would score 1 for each station + 2 for the interchange = 4 points. These must be actual interchanges, no additional points would be given for switching from the District and Circle lines just for the sake of it.
You need to keep your good eye on the watch (not the one with the patch on  ) as when the 1st half has elapsed you then have a 15 minute "half time" period to grab refreshments and get to your desired starting point for the second half. You are allowed to visit and interchange at stations that were in play in the first half, but points will not be awarded. You will only score again for unique stations visited.
