Good choice! We took a cab from T4 to Amersham in 2006 and it was £70...

Re: Zone 1 2010 with Tangy

I was simply not well (nothing serious though) and had to cancel the weekend in London.

Re: Zone 1 2010 : Rules & Registration

After checking the volcanoash graphics on London VAA, I didn't quite like the outlook for Denmark/Copenhagen for Saturday, so I advanced the first leg of my flight to Miami, so now I'm in Master Robert Hotel in Osterley for the next 36 hours, without specific plans. Are there any Tube Challengers ou...

Re: Zone 1 2010 : Rules & Registration

Thursday! You're even luckier than that (maybe - if flights are not too jammed with delayed people)... Supposedly, all major airlines honour existing reservations rather than clearing the backlog. The cancel victims will have to wait for openings (worst case a week or more for an Atlantic crossing).

Re: Zone 1 2010 : Rules & Registration

Actually, I'm hoping to pass Heathrow on my way to Miami on a business trip this Saturday, so I'm monitoring the ash situation carefully... And it's looking reasonably promising. My guess is that both Heathrow and Copenhagen will be open from Thursday and on.

Re: Zone 1 2010 : Rules & Registration

Just dropping a line to announce mine and Patrick's return to London to try to win the Cup a third time (making it permanent). I 'm also planning to attend the final round of R15 on the Saturday (alas, Patrick is not available for that event).

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Zone 1 - 2010. Warm Up or Wind Down event?

I'm in the process of booking my airline tickets for Z1CC. Has anyone plans or intents on any Warm Up or Wind Down event? I.e. is there any Tube Challenge activity planned or intended for Thursday (June 3) and/or Saturday (June 5)?

Yes, unfortunately and it has been so for a while. The hard drive crashed on my web server. Hope to get a new one on line Real Soon Now - thanks for reminding me.

Hakan : You should be working on (at very LEAST) an App that tells you how to get round Zone1 the fastest ... ...which I incidentally already have. There is no big point in making it mobile, since the paper versions for all possible start stations are easily carried on the day. Aah - you're referri...

Re: Zone 1 2010 : Rules & Registration

And I've read about the previous Z1 challenges and read about stopping after 4 hours if you haven't completed it, and noting the number of stations visited. Is that going to apply this year? (I think it is a good idea, so we don't have to wait indefinitely for some challengers who end up taking an ...

Re: Vancouver 2010

With the "Most stations in sixty minutes challenge" I think it could still be a very interesting challenge with the added element of 2 bonus points added per interchange. Therefore you would have to weigh up the benefit of changing lines and waiting for another train, versus just staying ...
